What can you do in six seconds to attract new leads?

Six seconds – that’s the length of time you have to attract leads from a video-sharing network called Vine. This Twitter-owned mobile app has drawn a lot of attention since it’s launch in 2013.Although feared to lose its loyal users when Instagram launched its video tools, Vine continues to grow and prove the critics wrong.

On August 2013, the network announced that they’re finally 40-million strong. How would you like to put your business in front of a crowd as huge as that?

Be What Your Leads Want

According to Craig Davis, Chief Creative Officer of J. Walter Thompson, “We need to stop interrupting what people are interested in and BE what people are interested in”.

And I agree! Our main goal should be to become what our customers want, and not to interrupt them by shoving our products to their faces. We have to transform into the kind of business that offers quality products and a unique customers experience… PLUS the kind that can be fun and hip when our audience calls for it.

So when friends and clients ask me if having a Vine account is worth it, I tell them this: if your ideal audience is in Vine, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be there, too.

But stop! Before you decide if Vine is or isn’t for you, let me first show you how some of the biggest companies in the world are utilising Vine for their business.

5 Creative Ways To Use Vine For Your Business

1. Contact Vine Influencers to help promote your product

Like many social media networks, Vine has influencers – people who post great videos and have thousands (even millions) of followers.

Many brands such as Virgin Mobile USA tap into these influencers to promote their products and events. They are very effective marketing partners because they scream “genuine” and “authentic”.

2. Encourage readers to share their buying experience with your business.

Want “level-up” testimonials? Try Vine!

Asos, a British online fashion and beauty store, is encouraging its readers to share their “unboxing” thru their Vine account.

To encourage more participants, they’ve added that they’ll be sending gifts to some of the most creative entries.

3. Show your potential leads what happens behind the scene

Show your prospect leads how you do your business by uploading a behind-the-scenes vine video. Not only will you spark the curiosity of your followers and leads, you’ll also gain their trust by showing that you put your heart into creating products that help solve their problems.

In the video above, The Weather Channel did a quick studio tour to give their audience a glimpse of work is done behind the cameras.

4. Highlight your product features creatively

A fun way to let your followers know of your new products is to highlight its features and benefits in a Vine video.

Take this video of Opel, for example. They’ve managed to show their followers the vibrant colors of their new car, Adam, in six seconds.

Samsung has also used the platform to promote their new phones. Checkout this masterful stop-motion video of their most popular products

5. Create easy how-to videos.

Want more sales? Show the different ways your product can be used in six seconds. If you’re in retail, show them the uses of your products (different outfit ideas for example). Meanwhile, if you’re in the coaching industry, be creative in showing the kind of results they’ll get when they decide to work with you.

The amazing team behind Oreo’s marketing department is always on the go in creating how-to videos showing the many ways to eat Oreo cookies. One of my favourites is the video above, where they’ve created milk + Oreo ice cubes that can be added to your morning coffee. What a brilliant idea!

Cool, huh? If you thought Vine was only good for personal videos, think again! If you want in, here’s how to join Vine:
